October 21, 2023 The Choral Majority Gospel Choir had the pleasure of being the musical guests at the 28th Women of Courage and Conviction Awards Luncheon by the Greater Boston Section of the National Council of Negro Women. The mixture of gospel soul music had the audience swaying along and clapping with us; some wanting to join us, including our M.C. for the evening, Paris Alston.
The venue, Venezia in Boston, on the water’s edge, had us feeling like we were on a cruise, listening to great music, enjoying great food and honoring great women. The event celebrated six women in the community, from lawyers, doctors, business owners and non-profits. In attendance was also Boston City council member Ruthvee Louijeune and Massachusetts State Senator Liz Moranda who also spoke and gave citations to each of the awardees.
The Choral Majority opened with the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” We also did a medley of TCM favorite tunes, and our newest piece, United in America. We had much interest from many in the audience, with promises of future events for The Choral Majority Gospel Choir.
